POSITION SUMMARY The health and wellness director specialist (HWDS) serves as the health and wellness director (HWD) where needed, typically on a temporary basis, and assists with onboarding and mentoring new health and wellness directors. The HWDS directs and manages team members serving in a caregiver, medication management, and nursing capacity. The HWDS works to ensure the Community complies with federal and state laws, regulations, and Company policies and procedures. The HWDS leads by example and champions the company’s mission, Residents First in Everything We Do. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and monitor resident care delivery and nursing interventions. Coordinate resident care delivery through collaboration with residents, families, physicians, team members, pharmacies, and third-party vendors. Ensure resident assessments, individualized service plans, resident service records, and other documentation is at all times current, complete, and filed in the resident health records. Help recruit and hire qualified team members in assigned communities. Direct licensed nurses, caregivers, medication passers, and all other team members of the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods, as applicable. Deliver training, as appropriate, during Team Member Orientation, annual training requirements, and for corrective purposes, in accordance with state laws and company policies and procedures. Provide and document verbal coaching to direct reports on performance expectations, provide timely performance evaluations, and initiate progressive disciplinary action, as warranted. Train and supervise team members for quality improvement initiatives. Understands and evaluates proper use of lift equipment, walkers, canes, and gait belts. Assist with sales and marketing efforts.
