The cardiac component entails obtaining an accurate medical history and prepping the patient for a pharmaceutical stress test, which includes explaining the procedure, risks, and complications. The nurse is responsible for administering intravenous medications to simulate a physical stress test and will then monitor the patient’s vital signs, EKG rhythm, and other parameters. The office float nurse will provide coverage for both primary care and specialty medical office settings.
