Job Summary Position responsible for providing leadership to the department – overseeing the daily operations – managing and developing departmental staff, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process, ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients. Memorial Hermann Cypress is looking for a dynamic Nurse leader for their 20 Bed IMU/Med/Surg over flow unit that has a hospitalists 24/7 around the clock. Previous Clinical Manager experience in a Critical Care setting preferred. BSN required. Overseeing approximately 50+ FTEs. Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing required or documented degree plan and timeframe to complete Bachelor of Nursing; For clinical manager positions in Magnet-designated hospitals or hospitals in pursuit of Magnet designation, a minimum of a Bachelors of Nursing is required at the time of hire or promotion Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing Certified in Basic Life Support Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three or more (3+) years experience in clinical area of practice and minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory or management role Clinical Manager II: Additional two (2) years experience (3 years total) in supervisory or management job

The Patient Care Technician , working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients. This position must integrate company values into daily practice. Essential Functions: Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc. Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc. Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques. Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel. Assists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions. Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner. Removes supplies and equipment not in use; placing furnishings and equipment out of the path in order to provide a safe, neat, and organized area. Adheres to patient rounding expectations and standards. Assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to providing maximal patient comfort and optimizing healing. Promptly and appropriately responds to patient and family calls and requests. Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using hospital’s established system. May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses environmental risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule. Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization. Minimum Job Requirements Minimum Education & Experience : High school diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred. 2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation: Current BLS required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics. Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management. Demonstrates critical thinking skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards. Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality. Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization. Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift: A significant amount of standing, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling, often for prolonged periods of time. Both gross and precise motor functions. Lifting/exerting of up to 50 lbs. Possible exposure to bodily fluids. Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care. Acute hearing required for accurate patient assessment. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
