PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT DEFINITION: The Physician Assistant is a health care professional, qualified by academic and clinical education, and licensed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, who provides health care services in a variety of patient care settings under the direction and supervision of a physician. Patients cared for are infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of a physician assistant program approved by the American Medical Association.
