Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities] Required Qualifications/Experience High School Diploma or GED. Completion of a Nurse Aide Program. Effective May 18, 2017 – must have attended at a minimum outside training program consisting of classroom and supervised practicum of a minimum of 75 hours (A minimum of 16 hours of classroom training must precede a minimum of 16 hours of supervised practical training as part of the 75 hours). One-year experience as a nurse aide/assistant in a healthcare facility or as a home health aide in a home care/hospice agency. Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice. Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience. Preferred Qualifications/Experience Nurse Aide Certification. Certification as Hospice/Palliative Care Nurse Aide; Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience in Healthcare setting. License, Certification & Clearances Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program. Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance Valid Driver’s License (if out of state hire, the record report from applicable state driver’s license department is required) Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
