Overview About the Role The Assistant Manager Environmental Services will assist the Director Environmental Services to provide leadership, direction, and management oversight for continuous improvement of EVS operations within University Hospital. Provides staff leadership and makes sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission and vision. Assists the Director Environmental Services with the day-to-day operations of the department and ensures a consistently high level of cleanliness. This is a second or third shift position. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Assists the Director Environmental Services to maintain the necessary and required resources for the environmental services department and provides recommendations for staffing levels, products, and equipment. Assists the Director Environmental Services in the development of departmental policies, processes, and implementation. In conjunction with University Hospital Human Resources, completes all human resources responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, managing, staff development, corrective actions and/or disciplining of employees according to the union contract. Prepares annual employee performance evaluation reports. With the Assistant Manager Environmental Services (Training), ensures staff training and development is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory requirements.
