Summary
Under the general supervision of the Vice President Nursing/Operations Hospital Supervisor is responsible for the supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently coordinate and manage resources as needed for quality patient care. Provides clinical patient care during shifts and identifies clinical resources necessary so patients are cared for.
Responsibilities
Michigan.
- B.S.N. preferred.
- ACLS required.
- PALS required within one year.
- NRP required within on year (new as of 1/1/2014).
- ABG certification required within six months.
- Three years progressive clinical experience required and five years management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people, including large and small groups.
- Ability to develop an awareness of hospital and community resources available and the necessary procedure to gain access to these resources.
- Able to facilitate multi-disciplinary groups.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, information synthesis, and problem/hypothesis formulation.
- Must have the ability to work independently and organize several projects.
- Must be able to move intermittently.
- Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the positions.
- Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Able to push and pull patients, weighing up to 350 pounds, with assistance, in wheelchairs or carts. Able to stand and walk up to 90% of a working day. Able to bend, stoop and squat as required.
