JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes telephone history on surgical/endoscopy patients several days prior to the patient’s scheduled visit. Completes the medication history and patient information review. Reviews completed testing results, verifies arrival time, reviews pre-op instructions, and assures patient is educated on what to expect during their visit to the surgery department. Documents as appropriate in the electronic medical record.
Assists in PATA as needed, performing EKGs, documenting patient history, and gathering outside patient records and test results.
Communicates patient care situations that may require intervention and implements nursing actions as identified by RN or physician/provider.
Works in Outpatient Surgery as required. Assists with patient discharge by completing vital signs, patient education, and discharge process. Transports patients as required.
Exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, staff, and providers. Maintains confidentiality of patients, employee, and business information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Current Indiana license as a Licensed Practical Nurse required. At least six months of related experience required.
