Job Title: CNA Program Instructor

Status: Full Time Days working 8am - 4pm
Salary: LPNs minimally starting at $60,000/year & RNs minimally starting at $70k. (Based on experience)

What will I do in this role with Maple Farm Nursing?
As a CNA Program Instructor, supporting the Garden Spot Communities' mission will include the following responsibilities:
- Manages the training of Nurse Aide students in accordance with PA Departments of Education rules and regulations.
- Teaches the 120-hour approved course for Nurse Aide Training at the Maple Farm campus in Akron, PA
- Proactively identifies the need for policies, protocols, and programs based on regulations, assessed risks, and the needs of the Garden Spot Communities Nurse Aide students.
- Recommends, develops, communicates, and implements policies, procedures, and programs, and evaluates and monitors such on an on-going basis.
- Develops and maintains educational resources for Nurse Aide students.
- Participates in the orientation of new Nurse Aide students in Skilled Nursing households.
- Works in tandem with the Harrisburg Area Community College, the Director of Nursing, and Human Resources to recruit and onboard new nurse aide students.
- Plans, schedules and communicates a calendar of education programs and in-services in a timely manner and works with department supervisors to ensure appropriate participation.
- Provides online training, in-service and competency records of each employee to the appropriate supervisors
What do I need for this role with Maple farm Nursing?
- Current and valid LPN or RN license in PA
- Teaching the Educator (TTE) Workshop Completion Certificate
- CPR certification
- Prior relevant training or work experience in education and/or program development in an acute care, long-term care, or rehabilitation facility
- Prior experience in geriatric nursing; dementia experience preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, OSHA, Department of Health, CDC, and CMS regulations
- Ability and willingness to provide effective training, coaching, and supervision to CNAs, and provide guidance to nursing and other staff with respect to areas of responsibility
- Prior experience developing, communicating, and implementing policies, protocols, and programs
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort with public speaking (e.g., facilitating meetings and training sessions, etc.)
- Computer skills (ability to access web sites, use web-based applications, PointClickCare , Word)
