Telemetry Nurse (Med Surg RN - Day & Night shifts available) ST3 / Overview
United Health Services is seeking motivated, experienced RNs to join our Telemetry team at UHS Wilson Medical Center located in Johnson City, NY.
As a UHS Telemetry nurse, you will join a team of close-knit nurses who embody trust, along with high standards and morals to support successful patient-centered care. Our unit is incredibly busy and exciting, which requires our nurses to be flexible and quickly think on their feet. Good communication is key, as we work through problems as a team. Effectively communicating a plan of care with your patient and their family is also essential. This requires you to quickly build trust and connection with your patients so that they feel your support throughout their entire stay.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Many of our Telemetry staff have been working with us for about three to eight years with some working with us for over twenty years! If you are interested in working in our unit but do not have direct Telemetry experience, we encourage you to apply. You will learn a great deal from our team of experienced staff, and they will support you throughout your career, just as you will support them. Our on-site educator is excellent and truly wants you and your team to thrive. Our coordinator has worked in our unit for over 20 years and is a wonderful support system. If you have prior Telemetry or Cardiac experience that is a big plus, but any experienced nurse who is willing to learn, be trained, and has a good moral compass will thrive on our team.
Your orientation period is flexible and based on your prior nursing experience. Safe patient care and your comfort with your training is our priority. You will work directly with a preceptor and frequently follow up with our educator to make sure you are feeling confident and to determine your orientation end date. Our goal is ultimately for you to be successful and happy while working on our unit.
Our Telemetry team’s core values are trust, respect, and teamwork, and we live these values every day. If your values match ours and you enjoy working in fast-paced environments, have strong integrity, are a critical thinker, hard-working, and flexible, you will be a perfect fit! We invite you to apply to join our UHS Telemetry team!
