Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Manager and Clinical Instructor-Nuclear Medicine/PET, and Staff Technologists, the Intern will be responsible for learning to: assist with assigned Nuclear Medicine/PET procedures to include; learn to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, document inventory of materials and supplies used in the related services. Intern will attend inservice education programs. Upon completion of internship, Intern should be able to meet the minimum, basic competencies of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist as per essentials, accreditations.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required with a strong science and math background. College diploma in math, physics, biology, chemistry or enrollment in an affiliated Nuclear Medicine Technology Program is required. Registered nurses and medical technologists can also be considered as per accreditation essentials.
LICENSURE:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Effective interpersonal skills are required.
