Nurse Manager - Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary:
- This position leads the coordination and supervision of the the activities of the Critical Care unit (Intensive Care).
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the department's operations.
- Participates with leaders, management, and leads in the hospital's decision-making structures and processes.
- Supports the philosophy and objectives of BCH and the critical care department.
- Functions as an expert in critical care nursing management.
- Establishes and monitors standards of clinical practice and performance; role models behaviors important for the development of professional nursing practice.
- Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift.
- Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources.
- This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program, AA degree required BSN or MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
- Direct care ACS patient in either the ED, Cath Lab, Critical Care Area, or Telemetry Unit.
- Minimum one year recent nursing supervisory experience in a critical care setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Knowledge of current clinical practice standards including computer skills, legal aspects of nursing, clinical management principles, and financial management.
- Must possess current California RN license.
- Must maintain CPR, ACLS, PALS, and Conscious Sedation.
- Neonatal Resuscitation within 45 days of hire.
Wage Range: $58.62/hr - 87.67/hr
