Nurse Manager - Intensive Care Unit Job Summary: This position leads the coordination and supervision of the the activities of the Critical Care unit (Intensive Care). Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the department's operations. Participates with leaders, management, and leads in the hospital's decision-making structures and processes. Supports the philosophy and objectives of BCH and the critical care department. Functions as an expert in critical care nursing management. Establishes and monitors standards of clinical practice and performance; role models behaviors important for the development of professional nursing practice. Uses established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all licensed and non-licensed caregivers and support staff in the delivery of patient care during their assigned shift. Uses independent judgment to ensure optimal delivery of patient care and appropriate use of available resources. This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. Qualifications: Graduate of accredited nursing program, AA degree required BSN or MSN preferred. Minimum of 3 years nursing experience. Direct care ACS patient in either the ED, Cath Lab, Critical Care Area, or Telemetry Unit. Minimum one year recent nursing supervisory experience in a critical care setting. Demonstrated leadership skills. Knowledge of current clinical practice standards including computer skills, legal aspects of nursing, clinical management principles, and financial management. Must possess current California RN license. Must maintain CPR, ACLS, PALS, and Conscious Sedation. Neonatal Resuscitation within 45 days of hire. Wage Range: $58.62/hr - 87.67/hr
