The Hospitalist APP will work approximately 16 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays rounding on patients in our inpatient unit and also floating to our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) department. This APP will also round very fifth Saturday or so.
This position is located at our 42 bed northwest Indianapolis hospital with flexibility to float to our 15 bed Greenwood hospital as needed. This position carries one benefit which is the eligibility to join our 401K program with generous match after 90 days of employment!

General Statement of Duties:
The Advanced Practice Provider Hospitalist provides patient access to orthopaedic and musculosketal care based on hospital needs as a member of OrthoIndy Hospital. All care provided will be within the scope of the duties assigned by the supervising Hospitalist Physician. The supervising Hospitalist Physician must be either physically present or immediately available for consultation when services are provided, including care provided using protocols, guidelines or standing orders. Position may require travel between locations as needed.
Essential Duties:
- Provides direct patient treatment under the supervision of the assigned OrthoIndy Hospitalist Physician.
- Helps to counsel individuals and families about their health-related issues. Communicates individualized teaching plans to patients based on their needs.
- Plans and implements care of patients, including; EMR documentation, ordering additional studies, communicates with supervising Physicians and hospital staff, and prescribing appropriate medications.
- Assesses patients and assesses normal and abnormal findings obtained from history and physical examination as well as radiology and ancillary studies.
- Orders radiologic and laboratory tests and studies as necessary to complete history and physical examinations.
- Travels between various locations as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required; Master's Degree preferred
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, American Association of Nurse Practitioners certification, Indiana Physician Assistant Committee, OR Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses of Indiana certification required
- 1-2 years of related experience
