Job Description

This position has the responsibility of supporting the mission of the hospital by providing care to those most in need and by providing an environment of high-quality health care for all patients. This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations regarding patient care management, resource management, fiscal management, quality improvement and knowledge adherence to The Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations. Must demonstrate the possession of knowledge and skills necessary to provide operational direction for designated areas of responsibility. Must demonstrate qualities of leadership, accountability and responsibility.

  • Works with assigned departments to ensure active engagement with all quality colleagues and performance improvement initiatives
  • Communicates to other department directors and leadership regarding occurrences, issues, findings, and risk management suggestions; provides feedback to directors at all levels in the effort to eliminate risk.
  • Ensures all departments actively participate in facility surveillance rounds and are engaged in identifying resolutions to identified areas of concerns including escalation of concerns to senior leadership.
  • When requested, adjusts personal schedule to meet departmental/unit needs.
  • Responds appropriately to fire, safety and disaster situations.
  • Reports to work on time, and if necessary, reports tardiness to appropriate person.
  • Adheres to infection control and employee health practices and policies.

  • Monitors capital requirements and submits requests for budgeted items according to established policy.

  • Operates equipment and performs job-related duties in a safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse 5 years in nursing management.
