At Shriners Children's St. Louis, we have a team of physicians and specialists who are highly trained and experienced in pediatric orthopedics. This team is equipped to treat children with a variety of different orthopedic conditions ranging from mild to complex. Other specialties you will find at our facility include limb lengthening and reconstruction, spine care, muscular and neuromuscular care, orthotics and prosthetics and plastic surgery.

Job Overview

Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a full-time / day shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Unit.  You will provide direct patient care for children with a variety of different orthopedic conditions ranging from mild to complex. This involves providing Med-Surg and ICU level of nursing care.

Hours: This full-time day shift position works 72 hours bi-weekly and every 3rd weekend.  

Responsibilities

• The Inpatient RN is responsible for the coodination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. 
• The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. 
• This position will provide leadership by acting as an informal and formal leader, preceptor and through quality improvement efforts. 
• Must have excellent communication skills and be skillful in mentoring and teaching.

Qualifications

Required:

• BSN degree or in process
• Missouri  RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

• 2+ years bedside RN experience (will consider new grads)
• Pediatric and ICU experience
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
