We are located at 2 Corporation Way in Peabody, MA. This practice has 26 exam rooms and offers Primary Care, Specialty Care (OBGYN, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nutrition, Urology, GI), Diagnostic Testing, and Lab Draw onsite.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to work onsite at our Primary and Specialty Care practice located at 2 Corporation Way in Peabody, MA. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with staggered shifts. On a typical day, you’ll support a steady patient schedule (approximately 20 patients per day, depending on staffing and visit type). Medical Assistants are typically paired one-on-one with a provider and may provide additional support to other providers as needed. This position is primarily focused on primary care, with cross-coverage in specialty areas as needed.

Job Summary
The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.Does this position require Patient Care? Essential Functions:
-Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training.
-Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record.
-Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education.
-Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach.
-Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.
-Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
-Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider.
-Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
