Responsibilities

Assesses and manages the care of assigned patients providing patient centered care that identifies, respects, and addresses patients’ differences, values, preferences, and expressed needs. Patient-centered care also involves the coordination of continuous care, listening to, communicating with, and educating patients and caregivers related to health, wellness, and disease management, prevention and the perioperative process. The registered nurse provides the human link between the healthcare system and the patient by translating the plan of care to the patient and developing a nurse patient partnership.

Qualifications

Education:

Associate Degree Nursing required

Bachelors Of Science Degree In Nursing Preferred.

Licensure:Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state. Must be licensed in state of residence.

Experience: Med-Surg experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:Ability to delegate wisely, exercise good judgment, maintain effective interpersonal relationships, adapt to change, effective verbal and written communication skills, evaluate critically and think creatively. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills required for specialized area of assignment. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care appropriate to infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Must demonstrate effective communication skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills to clearly express ideas. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

Certification/Course: Basic Life Support completion required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic occupational medicine team. This individual will be responsible for providing direct care to employees and other personnel who become ill and/or are injured on company property as well as pre-employment screening. They will perform nursing assessments and assist provider with employment and surveillance examinations. Clinical Excellence/Patient Care Obtain information to assist provider and referral specialist with patient referrals; complete appropriate forms or requisitions required for referrals or lab testing. Function as a clinician, educator, and resource for patients within their specialty of care and assist providers with office procedures. Draw and collect blood and other samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Conduct pulmonary function testing, drug testing, vision testing, hearing testing, immunization delivery and spirometry testing. Properly use office and medical equipment such as: computer, spirometer, audiometer, fax machine, multi-stage copiers and telephones. Practice reflects knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, DOT and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding occupational medicine and healthcare. Qualifications Licensure Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa Certification in Hearing conservation (CAOHC) and NIOSH approved spirometry training.
