A full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opportunity is available to support a Kindergarten student with severe needs in a K-12 school located in Westfield, MA. This position is contracted for the current school year, from ASAP through June 18, 2026, with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, working 6.5 hours per day.
This role involves providing one-on-one nursing care to a male student diagnosed with spina bifida and a neurogenetic bladder disorder requiring catheterization. The student is wheelchair bound but can walk short distances with a walker and has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with para support available during the school day. Nursing services will be provided exclusively within the school setting; there is no need for bus ride-along duties.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LPN license required; Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply as well.
- Experience working with pediatric patients with complex medical needs strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage catheter care and provide mobility assistance.
- Comfortable collaborating with educational staff and para support professionals.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive environment for the student.
Responsibilities include direct nursing care, medication administration, monitoring the student’s health status, responding to any medical emergencies, and documenting care per school policies.
