A full-semester, contract nursing opportunity is available to provide dedicated care within a K-12 school setting in Sherwood, OR. This position involves working one-on-one with a medically fragile student, requiring specialized skills such as tracheostomy care and the ability to perform pediatric life-saving measures. The role supports the student's health and safety throughout the school day, including collaboration opportunities during early release times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized nursing care to a medically fragile student in a school environment.
- Perform tracheostomy care and manage life-saving pediatric interventions as needed.
- Monitor and document the students health status throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with school staff during early release periods to support student well-being.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, families, and school personnel.
Qualifications:
- Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Experience with tracheostomy care and pediatric emergency procedures is mandatory.
- Will consider Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) with appropriate experience.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong clinical judgment.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with optional early release collaboration at 2 PM on Wednesdays.
