Registered Nurse School Setting - Portland, OR

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a licensed nurse to support a medically fragile K-12 student in a school setting located near Portland, OR. This role requires a dedicated professional capable of providing specialized 1:1 care, including tracheotomy care and the ability to perform life-saving pediatric interventions with confidence and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to a medically fragile student in a 1:1 setting within a K-12 school environment
  • Perform tracheotomy care and other specialized medical procedures as needed
  • Monitor health status and administer treatments in compliance with physician orders and school protocols
  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and caregivers to support the students health and educational success
  • Maintain accurate and timely health records and documentation
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies ensuring student safety at all times

Qualifications:

  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience with pediatric trach care and emergency life-saving measures
  • Ability to work effectively in a school setting among children and education staff
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with multidisciplinary teams

Position Details:

  • Location: Sherwood, OR (near Portland)
  • Contract Length: Full Semester, starting ASAP through May 30, 2026
  • Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM (early release Wednesdays at 2 PM optional)
  • Setting: One K-12 school, 1:1 medically fragile student caseload
