E S S E N T I A L  F U N C T I O N S

  • Organizes, prepares, and safely handles equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Utilizes surgeon preference cards.
  • Assists with the provision and reinforcement of patient education according to the plan of care.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

E D U C A T I O N

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred (IMH is willing to train the right candidate). 

 

E X P E R I E N C E 

  • Previous experience as a surgical technologist preferred.
  • Previous experience with instrumentation required.
  • Previous hospital experience strongly preferred. 

 

C R E D E N T I A L S 

  • Must obtain BLS within 60 days of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment with IMH.
  • If graduate of a surgical technologist program, must be certified by the ASA as a CST or complete certification within 3 months of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment with IMH.
