Including but not limited to: Maintaining cleanliness of resident’s room to include daily cleaning, deep cleaning as required, and discharge cleaning; providing for and engages in activities of interest to resident; providing restorative nursing programs necessary to maintain ADLs. Assists nurses with assigned tasks, including but not limited to: Measuring and recording vitals; gathering weights, measures and other documentation on the residents; making beds, cleaning closets, organizing and ensuring cleanliness of resident living areas; assisting with new admissions as assigned; assisting in the training and orientation of new staff as assigned. Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the Case Manager immediately. 2. Providing patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality. 3. Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.) 4. Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned. 5. Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned. 6. Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed. 11. Assistance with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as “reminders.” 12. Offering and assisting with bedpans and urinals. Providing assistance as assigned with light laundry needs, emptying waste baskets and other light homemaker tasks. 13. Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency. 14. Providing respite for patient's/family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate. 15. Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as assigned. 16. Adhering to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct. 17. Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities. 18. Respectful of patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs. 19. As a mandatory reporter, reports failure to comply with the requirements of chapters 246- 335 WAC and 70.127 RCW to the Washington Dept. of Health as required within 14 calendar days, using Dept. of Health forms. 20. Reports suspected abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a person in violation of RCW 74.34.020 or 26.44.030 to the department of social and health services and the proper law enforcement agency. Reports must be submitted immediately when the reporting person has reasonable cause to believe that abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred. Due to nature of job and working with multiples facilities with multiple covid guidelines must be covid vaccinated. 4. High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) 5. Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given. 6. Understands hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill. 7. Prior experience in hospice, orderly, acute , rehabilitative, or long term care facility. 1 year previous home health/hospice experience preferred 8. Job Responsibilities Implementing best practice nursing care in post-acute residents in nearby areas Monitoring the conditions of residents and providing updates to the nursing team Measuring and documenting the basic vital signs of residents Helping residents with grooming, feeding, toileting, and other basic activities of daily living (ADLs) Promoting a clean and safe environment by ensuring best practices in hygiene and by clearing areas of hazards Transporting residents around the facility and assisting them with other movements, as needed during the day Interacting with residents on a daily basis to keep them engaged, provide comfort, and build trusting relationships Being accountable to follow and adhere to care plans for residents and all applicable rules, regulations, and policies Bridging communications between, and among, staff and residents (and their family members) Qualifications and Skills Current Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification Understanding of general nursing care procedures and terminology Ability to communicate with medical professionals as well as patients/residents and their family members High level of attention to detail Lifting requirement of at least 50 lbs Enjoy the Work-Life Balance You Deserve As you search for State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) jobs, this is your chance to join a company that trusts you to manage your own schedule.
