Job Overview The Clinical Manager oversees the daily operations of a direct patient care department, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards. This role provides clinical leadership, guiding staff in delivering developmentally appropriate care and evaluating outcomes. The Clinical Manager supports quality and safety initiatives, contributes to organizational goals, and drives improvements in healthcare performance and patient experience. In collaboration with other healthcare leaders, the Clinical Manager fosters professional development, coaches for performance, and cultivates a positive environment for both team members and patients/families. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides care for children with life-threatening illnesses and/or injuries as well as those who are at serious risk for life threatening complications. We care for children from birth to 21 years of age. Patients treated here are experiencing multi-organ system failure, acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, meningitis, septic shock, near drowning, diabetic ketoacidosis, renal and/or hepatic failure, oncology/bone marrow transplant or airway management, among other diagnoses. Major diagnostic categories include respiratory, neurologic, injury/poisoning, trauma, oncological and infectious disease. The PICU also provides care for patients receiving solid organ transplants as well as neurosurgical, burn, orthopedic, ENT, and general pediatric surgical patients. Patients in the PICU are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Intensivists, RNs, support staff, and dedicated PICU Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Nutritionists, Social Workers and Child Life Specialists. We provide family centered care by identifying and addressing the needs of the patient and family throughout their hospitalization. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION – Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master’s in health related field required. EXPERIENCE - Three years of clinical experience and two years of nursing leadership experience in supervision (such as ACM), leading clinical practice projects, serving as a charge nurse or house supervisor, and/or precepting. Previous PICU experience is strongly preferred. LICENCURES/CERTIFICATION(S) – Registered Nurse (RN) License BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire. We treat neonate, infant and pediatric patients less than 2 years old with conditions including hypoxemic respiratory failure, infections, hematological, neurological, cardiovascular, metabolic disorders, single major or multiple anomalies requiring diagnostic work-up and/or surgical intervention. We provide continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), renal dialysis and body cooling for neonates among many other therapies to provide the highest level of neonatal care to infants and their families.
