Nurses will also be caring for other general medical surgical patients with various illnesses in this area. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care. Responsibilities: Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient. Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs. Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs. Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions. Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment, and professional development. Department: Hospice - Port Huron Daily Work Times: 2:00pm-10:30pm Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 80 The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of patient care provided to an assigned group of patients.Indirectly supervises all nursing personnel assigned to the group of patients for whom he/she is coordinating. Primary Responsibilities Performs basic patient care procedures/techniques competently, including the administration of medication.Organizes patient care effectively. Performs assessment data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on age, physiologic, psychological and cognitive status of the patient.Completes, reviews and evaluates the data collected by caregivers. Department: Emergency Department Daily Work Times: 3p-330a Shift : Evening Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 48 Benefits: 403(b) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Position Summary: Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action. Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care. Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks. Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency. Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider. Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department. Preferred: One year of professional nursing experience. ACLS preferred in other units.
