The MSD nurse is responsible for providing health care for the students and to act as health care liaison between the parents and the school. This is an 11-month, school year position. Nurses do not work when school is closed during winter break, spring break, and during the summer months. The salary range reflects the 11-month work schedule. This is a 2nd Shift position. The work schedule is Sundays (4:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and Mondays-Thursdays (2:45 PM - 11:00 PM) Plus 3 weekends during the school year (one in fall, one in winter and one in spring). POSITION DUTIES The MSD nurse is responsible for providing health care for the students and to act as health careliaison between the parents and the school. This is a 2nd shift position. The nurse will be in regularcontact with school staff, dorm staff, teachers, teacher aides, students and parents/guardians as wellas providers, medical facilities and private duty nurses. Administer medications prescribed formedical conditions or injuries. Assess, evaluate, and monitor students’ current medical andemotional health status and identify nursing needs of students. Maintain accurate and adequaterecords of nursing care, observations and treatment according to established procedures. Maintainthe Student Health Center to ensure a safe, operational and compliant environment for patient care.Provide auxiliary duties as needed.
