The RN uses knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. May participate in supervision of Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel. 5 North is a 16 bed respiratory care step down unit. The majority of the patient population consists of those with pneumonia, COPD, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, CHF and DKA patients. The team on 5 north is trained to care for patients on vents, Bipap, Hiflo O2 and chest tubes. As a staff member on 5 North you will work with a complex yet diverse patient population and will be supported by a strong and experienced team of nurses and LNAs.
