Responsibilities The Registered Professional Nurse for Northside Hospital’s Choice+ Program independently plans and provides nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines. The Choice+ Staff RN is required to work alongside the unit-specific teams to support them in providing care to all patients and families. The Northside Hospital Choice+ Staff RN manages the care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Northside Hospital. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. 2. Must demonstrate and maintain competency in two specialty areas. 3. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). a. Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. 4. Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment. 5. Must meet all Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) personnel qualifications and responsibilities requirements for individuals directing or performing non-waived point of care testing as stated in 42 CFR, Part 493, Subpart M. Responsibilities Assists physicians during electrophysiology (EP) procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, radiofrequency ablation, and other miscellaneous procedures required by operating the electrophysiology recorder, hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED : Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Responsibilities As a Charge Nurse, coordinates daily activities and distribution of work in area during scheduled shift; as a Preceptor Nurse, acts as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence. The approximate amount of overall participation in direct patient care activities is 80% and Charge‑Preceptor duties is 20%. The range of roles between Charge and Preceptor may vary dependent upon patient acuity and volume issues. Works with a unit specific patient population. Care and/or services will be provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This position is required to set priorities based on the situation at hand, and is a combination of direct patient care, management (charge), and education (preceptor) roles with responsibility for a unit during an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift. Qualifications Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
