If you’re tired of working with limited freedom and flexibility, consider per diem nursing jobs. New technology makes this a more viable — not to mention attractive — option than ever for nursing professionals. Whether you want to work in acute care or post-acute, you can find your next per diem nurse jobs on IntelyCare today.
Choose to Work When You Want
One of the great benefits of working in a per diem nursing job is how much control you have over your schedule. If a shift conflicts with other things in your life, you have the option to decline it. Let’s say you have a family to care for or you’re currently in school — you don’t have to bend over backwards to accommodate a shift that’s been assigned to you, since you’re not contractually obliged to fill it.
Choose to Work Where You Want
In addition to control, per diem nursing shifts offer variety. Nursing professionals can often feel like their careers are stuck in place when working full time at the same facility doing the same tasks with the same people — plus there are likely few opportunities for professional advancement in other specialties.
Per diem nursing shifts allow you to explore new facilities, give you the opportunity to float, and add new experiences to your nursing resume and cover letter. Plus, you can take the various experiences you have and use them to craft compelling answers to nursing interview questions.
Enjoy a Higher Income Potential
In a full-time job or part-time job, there tends to be few opportunities for an increase in pay. But as a per diem nurse, salary ranges are often better than the national or regional median. For example, check out the average earnings for various levels of nursing:
But when you check out shifts on IntelyCare, you might notice that per diem nursing jobs' salary ranges are more — sometimes quite a lot more — than the national average. Find out what you could earn by browsing the per diem nursing jobs on IntelyCare:
If you have experience in certain specialty areas, your per diem nursing skills may be in greater demand. In fact, medical-surgical nursing accounts for 41.6% of the per diem staffing market globally. Check out other top per diem specialties below.
What to Look for in Per Diem Nurse Jobs
