How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. They must ensure that inmates receive medical, mental health, or dental services within the appropriate timeframe and refer them to specialty providers as needed. The RN will work closely with other healthcare providers and follow established policies and procedures to provide optimal care for patients. Key Responsibilities Review and triage inmate sick call requests, sorting them by emergent and non-emergent status. Maintain a detailed log of all sick call requests and ensure they meet facility policy and accreditation timeframes. Use physician-approved nursing protocols for care and treatment and document all inmate contacts while maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
