APPs are responsible for all primary patient management including, but not limited to pre-rounding, daily multidisciplinary rounds/care planning, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging studies, prescribing medications and treatments, and evaluating for treatment responses. We are also responsible for writing admission orders, documenting admissions to the hospital, discharging patients, and managing all changes in clinical status. We collaborate closely with Oncology Hospitalists and Medical Oncologists. We also provide care on the solid tumor oncology treatment service, managing patients on inpatient chemotherapy and clinical trials. Acute Care/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification or Physician Assistant Certification are preferred.
