Position Summary UMass Memorial Health is seeking a committed and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our adult critical care team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, and deliver expert care with a high degree of autonomy. You will also engage in education, quality improvement, and leadership initiatives that support patient outcomes and team development. Major Responsibilities: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests Conduct in-depth health histories and physical examinations Analyzes data collected to determine health status and identify differential diagnoses based on history, physical exam, and clinical findings. Develop and implement care plans with physicians and patients Manage therapeutic interventions and perform advanced procedures Reassess and modify plan treatment plans to achieve medical and health goals. Documents and communicate care outcomes and clinical findings to determine effectiveness of plan of care. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: For Nurse Practitioners Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (preferably ACNP/AGACNP) Current Massachusetts NP license Board Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Scheduling Requirement Including weekend and evening requirements: M-F 8-4, one to two days per week adjusted hours of 10-6, Essential Functions Performs evaluation, treatment, counseling, and educational functions. Billing for patient services based on CMS and NJ State Board Regulations. Demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and judgment to provide appropriate care for patients. Develops plan of care for patients in coordination with multidisciplinary team and completes appropriate reports to primary care physicians and family. Documents and maintains patient records of services provided according to facility and nursing standards. Establishes a collaborative relationship with other medical providers.
