Overview Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) to support the VA San Diego Healthcare System located at 3350 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92161. Multiple shift schedules are available. Responsibilities Obtains patient history and patient family history Performs quality control checks and operator maintenance for a variety of patient care equipment Assists in identifying patient needs and implementing the plan of care Documents care given and patient response in the medical record Prepares patient for physical examination Carries out prescribed nurse initiated, nurse practitioner, and physician orders and documents in patient medical record Communicates pertinent patient data to the appropriate provider Possesses knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most commonly used emergency drugs and their location Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate resuscitative measures Assists in patient/family education regarding prescribed medications/therapies/diagnostic procedures Assesses patient/family knowledge level, implements plan of instructions, and records patient/family demonstrated level of understanding Ensures content and correctness of a prepared reports and signs documents to validate content Participates in monitoring quality of care according to professional standards and established procedures Responds to telephone inquiries regarding ward services and/or follow-up ancillary reports Assists with ward related administrative tasks Administers oxygen, intravenous fluids, and prescribed medications in accordance with VA policy Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce, in the Veteran population, and in the community Other duties as assigned Qualifications Possesses a valid, current license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as an LVN and be licensed to practice in the State of California; all licenses must be unencumbered and remain in effect during the time they are providing services under the contract Has been actively practicing as an LPN for at least one year within the past three years Is capable of providing nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients Has and maintains current BLS certification Has documented training and skills verification No sponsorship available Pay Range: $30.00 - $40.00 hourly All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist Lift up to 20 lbs Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance Push/pull with 30 lbs of force All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is an individual with specific knowledge and technical skills to assist the Registered Nurse in providing care for a designated group of patients. The LVN utilizes the Nursing Process to provide therapeutic care to a specific population of patients, under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Essential Duties: Uses and practices basic assessment, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the plan of care or treatment plan, and contributes to evaluation of individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan. Provides direct patient care. Administers medications. Demonstrates professional communication skills for the purpose of patient care, education and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Schedules and receives patients. Prepares and maintains medical records. Performs basic secretarial and medical transcription duties. Enters charges into the system in an accurate and timely fashion. Handles telephone calls and writes correspondences. Serves as a liaison between physicians and other individuals. Takes patient histories and vital signs. Implements an effective and efficient patient flow. Performs first aid and CPR if needed. Assists physicians with exams and treatments as permitted by license. Organizes pharmacy refill requests for physician approval. Ability to work independently and in a team setting to accomplish duties in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Req High school or equivalent. Req Specialized/technical training Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing Program. Req Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients. Req Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization. Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. Req Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information. Req Able to make decisions effectively and with appropriate stakeholder input. Preferred Qualifications: Pref 2 years Experience in a health care setting. Required Licenses/Certifications: Req Licensed Vocational Nurse - LVN (CA DCA) Valid California Vocational Nursing license. Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only). The hourly rate range for this position is $29.00 - $45.20.
