Overview Our Academic Medical Center is expanding to meet the needs of our rural New England region's pediatric patients with inpatient psychiatric care needs. The Inpatient Adolescent Med Psychiatric Care Unit opened in Spring 2025. We are recruiting both Pediatric RNs and Psychiatric RNs with passion to support adolescent patients from 12 to 17 years of age. The successful candidate will be flexible and have a team-orientated approach to care. This is a FT Night shift position with 3x12hr shifts from 7p-7a across all nights including weekend and holidays. Overview Nurse Educator CHaD (Pediatric and Pediatric Critical Care Inpatient units) The mission of Nursing Education is to promote and support the overarching nursing strategic plan and initiatives originated by the CNO and the Center for Nursing Excellence. We accomplish this through the development and implementation of programs based on adult learning theories and best practice for nursing education. Our work includes initial onboarding, clinical area orientation, competence assessment (initial and ongoing), preceptor excellence program, and ongoing professional development for nurses throughout their career journey at D-H. The centralized department structure will facilitate the development of skills in critical thinking, clinical reasoning, effective communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration for D-H nurses. We collaborate with subject matter experts and ancillary departments in creating educational programs and annual competence plans to meet the needs of practice settings for ambulatory, emergency, inpatient, perioperative, and procedural. We utilize evidence-based concepts and programs related to patient safety and quality process improvement throughout our nursing education programs. We support the successful transition to professional practice for nurses through a nurse residency program. We foster transition to clinical practice in desired specialty areas with experiential learning activities including simulation education. We facilitate in the development of nurses as preceptors through evidence-based curriculum Responsibilities Designs and develops centralized orientation programs, and identifies and develops adjunct faculty to deliver content. Responsible for staff development and competency in application of the nursing process and performance of critical thinking and clinical skills for that population. Overview Performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care duties. Possesses direct access to drug products and secure medication locations in order to manage the storage, handling and disposal of medications consistent with the Medication Storage and Handling Policy. Description The Adult Day Care Aide/LNA will: Assist participants with activities of daily living and other personal care including ambulation, transfers, toileting, food preparation, feeding, nail care and bathing. Assist with and lead activities as instructed. Ensure activity supplies are ready and available for participants. Work as a team player with all other staff. Communicates participant information to appropriate supervisors in a timely manner. Assist with the arrival and departure of participants. Assist with daily documentation. Description The Advanced Practice healthcare professional is a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with clinical knowledge and experience in Cardiology and Cardiac Stress testing. The Practitioner will: Ensure the safety of the patient pre/post and during the performance of a cardiac stress test. Perform cardiac stress testing on Adult patients in the Stress Test Lab. Work in collaboration with the patient’s referring provider to ensure appropriate stress testing. Be responsible for pre-assessment of the patient, consenting the patient. Monitor the patient throughout the test, and in recovery, and is responsible for the completion of all documentation. Provide urgent care and appropriate follow up to patients experiencing acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias or other post-test complications using guidelines from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. Follow advanced practice protocols testing including performing exercise and pharmacological stress testing. Supervise the technicians during the stress test. Requirements Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing OR Master of Science and physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Two (2) years’ experience in an expanded healthcare provider role. Experience in cardiology. Proven competency with stress testing (preferred) OR 90 days post hire, to obtain 100 observed Stress Test and 30 Supervised Competence Stress Tests. Vermont Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with prescriptive authority with no restrictions OR Vermont Physician Assistant license with no restrictions issued by the Vermont Board of Medical Practice. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license Certification as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (CNP) (preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
