The PNA is responsible for contributing to the development, evaluation and reassessment of care plans through observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and physical status. The PNA is also responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the safe and therapeutic environment of the unit. The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 19 - 64) and geriatric (ages 65 +). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of the Christian Health Care Center. Competencies: Supervises or assists in after meal care (removing trays, encouraging patients in brushing teeth, washing up, etc.). Serves food trays. Assists with feeding as indicated. Assists patients in preparing for activity and social programs, as per unit program schedules. Answers call bells promptly. Changes bed linens. Assists or supervises patients to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed. Reports all changes in the patient's condition to the Charge/Staff Nurse as soon as practical. Keeps floors dry. Reports spills immediately. Maintains intake and output records as instructed. Greets and escorts patient to his/her room. Informs the Charge/Staff Nurse of equipment and supply needs. Records all supplies and equipment utilized for appropriate procedures to Charge/Staff Nurse. Assists in transporting patients to/from appointments, activities and social programs, etc. as necessary/assigned. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient care information. Schedule: Full-time, 11pm - 7am, Monday - Friday and Working Every other weekend. Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
