Obtains proper approval from Managed Care Organizations, Employers, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and Third-Party Administrators for further treatment of the patient, specialty referrals, rehabilitation, etc. in order to expedite and facilitate appropriate care. Interprets lab values, responds appropriately, and reports abnormalities to providers and carries out medical orders. Evaluates and modifies plan of care based on observable response of patient. Maintains effective and timely verbal and written communication with clinic and medical staff, employer, Managed Care Organization, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Third Party Administrator, and employees regarding the scheduling, treatment, follow-up, status and disposition of each case. Assists in planning for the reintegration of the injured worker into the worksite with provider, employee and employer in returning employee to regular work duties.
