Apply today for our RN BH Intake Specialist opportunity. Job Summary and Qualifications Seeking a Behavioral Health Intake Registered Nurse. You will conduct patient intake screenings to ensure all patients receive accurate placement according to medical criteria facilitating high quality, efficient care in a psychiatric environment. What you will do in this role: You will conduct patient-centered intake screenings utilizing appropriate medical necessity criteria. You will facilitate the determination whether a patient meet admission criteria or referral to community resource is required, working with Physician to ensure appropriate disposition. You will develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies that provide funding sources. You will assesses potential funding sources for patients and coordinates insurance and private pay billings as needed. You will work collaboratively with other community medical facilities/agencies to obtain appropriate authorizations for patient care. You will collaborate medical treatment with third party payers and utilization review department to qualify patients for current or continued care needs, obtaining pre-admission authorization prior to admission. Requirements: Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire. Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) required. Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 60 days of hire. Fingerprinting required upon hire. Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting.
