Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary: We are a specialized, fast-paced, observation unit dedicated to responding to the needs of the patient who requires ongoing diagnostic testing or observation prior to discharge or admission. Our staff provide compassionate, high quality care that is respectful, patient and family-centered, safe and cost-efficient. Our nurses are adept at working with fast paced changes and coordinating care since stays are typically less than 24-48 hours in this unit. Despite the rapid patient turnover, nurses in this unit demonstrate their caring by quickly establishing a rapport with the patient and involving them in their own care. The staff experience the professional satisfaction that comes with making a difference every day for their patients. The patient population includes those experiencing chest pain, stroke, congestive heart failure exacerbation, uncontrolled hypertension, dehydration, and post-procedural recovery for cardiac catheterization and short stay surgery. Nurses working this unit will also care for inpatient med/tele patients in various care areas. Resident nurses are provided with an in-depth Med/Surg Residency. Performs catheterization, inserts nasogastric tubes and performs gavage feedings. Transports patients to other services, departments, and/or facilities, when necessary. b. Provides sufficient information to patient(s), parent(s) and/or guardian on: pre and Post-operative education; disease process and complications; medication administration c. Documents nursing process, patient status, care and services. Orients, trains and supervises assigned personnel, students and volunteers. Manages unit operations, personnel, bed utilization, and mission requirements. Completes 24 hour and ward status report for both infant and mother. d. Must successfully complete unit specific competency based orientation program for both mother and infant which includes: Accucheck III Glucose Monitoring, EKG Lifepack 15, Apical and fetal heart rate, fetal movement counts, staple removal, catheterization, administration of blood products, Rhogam administration, Depoprovera and Rubella vaccine, phlebotomy, wound care, oxygen therapy, obtaining blood specimens via venipuncture and heelstick, insertion and maintenance of nasogastric tubes, gavage feeding and administration of antibiotics. Use of specific equipment includes; IV infusion pumps, Patient Control Analgesia (PCA), Patient Control Epidural Analgesia Pump (PCEA), Doppler, Tympanic Thermometer, Vital Sign and Accucheck machines, Infusion syringe, suction and oxygen in crash cart and patient rooms. Additionally, must complete an abbreviated department level competency based orientation in support of the obstetric/gynecologic/post-surgical adult, neonate, and pediatric patient population. e. Participates in Quality Improvement, Internal Control Management Program, and Utilization Training. Provides neonatal resuscitation measures as necessary. Enters, retrieves and updates information on the Composite Health Care Computer (CHCS), and Essesntris Workload Management System for Nurses (WMSN), Defense Human Resources Information Systems internet (DMHRSi), and Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS); data entry proficiency is required. This role combines clinical leadership, direct patient care, and operational management — helping women feel their best through personalized Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) , wellness medicine , and concierge primary care services. What You’ll Do As a Clinic Director , you’ll serve as both a clinical leader and practicing provider , guiding your team to deliver exceptional patient care while managing clinic operations, compliance, and growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of clinic operations — patient volume, staffing, training, compliance, and financial performance. Conduct new patient consultations, review medical histories, and perform physical assessments. Order, review, and interpret lab work and diagnostic results to develop individualized treatment plans. Prescribe, monitor, and adjust HRT and related medications. Oversee wellness services, including IV therapy, vitamin injections, and medical weight management (including GLP-1 medications). Provide concierge medicine services such as pap smears, birth control management, blood pressure management, preventive screenings, lab work, and common illness management. Review and sign off on patient charts, lab results, and documentation in the EMR. Ensure compliance with all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards. Mentor and develop your team — fostering a high-performing, patient-centered culture focused on quality and care. Collaborate with regional leadership to enhance patient outcomes, retention, and clinic growth through superior service and medical excellence.
