We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with acute care experience in ER, Urgent Care, or Internal Medicine to join our growing team. Our field based Advanced Practice Providers are equipped with everything needed to treat common to complex injuries and illnesses in the home through comprehensive health assessments, including diagnosis, treatment, and outcome management, for patients of all ages. Our innovative model allows us to provide definitive care in the home, including point of care laboratory studies, minor procedures, splinting, wound care, suturing, IV fluid and medication administration. We provide whole person care by facilitating timely follow up and care coordination. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical skills, strong communication abilities and a commitment to compassionate care. The DispatchHealth mission and model allow our providers to deliver high-quality and high-value care with exceptional patient satisfaction. Shift Scheduling: Operating hours are 8AM to 8PM. You will need to be available to work a mix of both early morning shifts starting at 8AM and 10AM for each 10-hour shift. If you elect to work additional shifts, you will receive extra shift pay (in addition to your salary). Weekend Scheduling: You will be required to be available for assignment of at least four (4) weekend days during each 28-day scheduling cycle. Holiday Schedule: You are expected to work three (3) holidays annually. Solo Requirement: You will drive to the patient’s place of residence in a DispatchHealth branded “Rover” and will independently deliver care. You will be seeing 4-7 patients per shift. Treat patients as a mobile unit and driving in a company vehicle to the place of service. Perform comprehensive health assessments and diagnose and treat mild to complex illnesses. Provide therapeutic interventions, such as splinting, suturing, wound care and minor procedures. Use critical thinking skills and follow evidence-based standards of practice. Accurately and thoroughly document your patient encounter and ensure accuracy. Analyze test data to diagnose, treat and arrange appropriate follow up for the patient to ensure continuity of care. Educate patients and families on how to treat their illness or condition and manage their health and well-being. Effectively navigate difficult conversations related to end-of-life issues and goals of care. Communicate effectively and clearly with patients, family, the medical power of attorney, primary care provider and all individuals involved in the patient’s care. Identify and proactively solve problems. Adhere to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics. Provide care with compassion, empathy, and cultural competency. Maintain positive relationships with clinical partners and remote teams. Attend training sessions and clinical team meetings. Maintain professional etiquette and serve as ambassadors for DispatchHealth. Additional duties as assigned. Education, Licensing, and Experience Minimum of two years of experience as an APP in the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Hospital, Family Practice, Cardiac, Pulmonary or other relevant areas Graduate with an advanced degree from an accredited institution are preferred Current unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Nationally board certified, current Current BLS / ACLS certification Prescriptive authority DEA in states where required Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Skills/Abilities Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to drive and sit in a car for long periods of time Ability to drive during the day and at night Ability to climb three flights of stairs while carrying equipment Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds Ability to visually interpret test results Ability to hear with or without accommodation Ability to provide patient care in non-traditional or smaller spaces with limited room for movement Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. The RN Coordinator Practitioner Excellence will work in close collaboration with Medical Staff leaders and other members of the Medical Staff Office on providing accurate clinical summaries, data trends, and providing detailed reports for analysis when indicated. This position will also monitor significant trends by analyzing aggregate data and monitoring the performance of all practitioners, identifying areas for performance improvement and the quality of care we provide. This includes clinical performance and escalating professional behavior concerns to the Director Practitioner Quality and Professionalism. The RN Coordinator Practitioner Excellence will be responsible for coordinating and managing all Medical Staff Peer Review meetings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned. · Identify cases meeting the criteria for clinical case review through pulling reports from various data systems and provide a preliminary analysis (RN level) of findings. · Collect data as specified in the Professional Practice Evaluation (PPE) Policy for aggregation, analysis, and presentation including an annual summary to be presented to the Medical Board by Medical Staff Leadership. · Collect data, as requested by hospital committees as defined in the PPE-Policy including but not limited to Physician Excellence Committee, Hospitalist Quality and Process Improvement Committee or others for ongoing trends or outlier status and to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide both patient and provider support during procedures by handing instruments or equipment to the physician as directed. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use and dispose of contaminated supplies. Perform clinical duties including administration of oral and injectable medications, irrigation of eyes and ears, dresses and bandages wounds and incisions, starts and monitors IV infusion, and assists physicians with any/all procedures as requested. Perform in-office diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, administration of oxygen as ordered, pulse oximetry, peak flow, and inhalation treatments. Perform in-office CLIA-waived lab tests. Carry out quality controls related to lab equipment and testing, complete and maintain lab-related logs, perform PT/INR utilizing CoaguChek/Coag Sense machine, and perform glucose testing utilizing glucometer. Accurately complete electronic medical records to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used. Monitor disposable inventory and place orders for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as requested. Draw blood and process specimens for send-out. Provide patient education as directed by the provider. Assist front office tasks by performing additional clerical duties, including patient check-in/out, referrals, prescription medication management, inbound/outbound telephone calls etc. Help maintain an adequate inventory of office medications and medical supplies and orders as needed. Assist in onboarding and training new Team Members. Assist with inventory and maintaining office supplies. Additional duties as assigned.
