We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in Longview, Christian Health’s North Jersey’s premier assisted living residence. The LPN is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day activities of the PCAs. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, Assisted Living guidelines and regulations that govern the facility and as may be required by the Wellness nurse to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Demonstrates an understanding of , and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health. Competencies: Ensures that department personnel, residents and visitors follow department established policies and procedures at all times. Creates/maintains atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the unit/shift. Provides leadership, direction, support to nursing personnel assigned to unit/shift. Demonstrates an understanding of Assisted Living principles including resident choice, privacy, independence, dignity in all interactions with resident. Makes rounds to observe/assist residents and transfers relevant information to Wellness RN. Demonstrates an understanding of the aging process, cognitive impairments, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Provides/receives verbal and written report at change of shift. Responsible for daily resident care assignments. Completes Assignment Sheet Tasks consistently and on time. Provides/submits data related to Continuous Quality improvement projects as scheduled. Attends/participates in educational seminars, in-services as scheduled. Makes MD appointment. Makes appointment for residents medical test (Includes pacemaker, X-rays, podiatry, psych consult). Communicates results with MD. Documents all accidents/incidents following facility policy and reports accurately and in a timely manner. Participates in orientation of new residents/family members to facility. Maintains resident records as required by facility policy. Assists with securing staff coverage when needed. Interacts with restorative/rehabilitative programs to include self-help and care. Works with facility consultants and implements changes authorized by Wellness RN. Maintains list of current labs as ordered by MD and schedules on calendar when needed. Communicates/faxes results to appropriate MD's Administers services as directed by Wellness RN. Oversees that each resident in Longview are scheduled for annual physicals and/or re-certifications. Works with full time LV nurse to: Set up physicals for the Doctor's residents. Schedules lab work for residents receiving a physical. Mails out letters to resident who have MD's outside of facility. Follows up with family to set up an appointment. Verifies physical and recert papers have been returned and are on chart. Certification: Must have a valid LPN licensure in the State of New Jersey. Overview About the Role The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) is a skilled health provider who, through a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician, is credentialed through the Medical Staff Office. The Employee Health Services APN ensures that personnel working at University Hospital are in compliance with Federal, State, Local, TJC, New Jersey State Department of Health and all other regulatory agency requirements, standards, and regulations. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Assists in maintaining monthly statistics on tuberculosis exposure/screening, hepatitis screening, rubella exposure/screening, Aids exposure/screening and of employees seen in the Employee Health Clinic. Conducts surveillance and follow up of employee exposures to communicable disease. Is responsible for giving complete and comprehensive pre-employment physical examinations and documenting findings on the Medical Record accordingly. Administers employee physicals, provides injury related diagnosis, or other types of referrals according to OSHA regulations. Responsibilities The position of Chief Nurse Anesthetist is responsible and accountable to the overall operations and management of the CRNA staff, including hiring, evaluating, and mentoring. Analyzes and evaluates activities to assure established quality patient services and plans appropriate utilization of staff time and capabilities. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a Master’s Degree in a related field; or graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education programs prior to January 1998 is required. Certified as an APN in the State of NJ is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a nurse anesthetist is required.
