Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department Key Details: Level 2 Part-Time Days/Nights rotation $55–$60/hr, depending on experience The Level 2 Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This part-time role supports both day and night shifts and requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage high-acuity patients, and effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary emergency care team. Up to a $Position Summary: Assist physician with duties necessary to support the needs of the practice working within and to the maximum scope of license Education, License & Cert: LPN ‐ Must be licensed in the state of practice. Experience: One‐year experience in healthcare field preferred but not required Essential Functions: 1. Directs patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam or treatment by identifying height, weight, respirations, blood pressure, temperature, additional testing, and records same on chart. Will also interview patient to obtain history allergies, reconciles medication list and records on chart as requested. 2. Write or call Rx after obtaining surgeon/provider authorization for all department surgeons/providers as needed. Chart as written in patient’s chart 3. Email, fax or call in any insurance referrals. Follow up phone call with referral number to specialist if requested. 4. Assists in smooth departmental operation by filling in for other LPNs, clinical assistant and MOA’s as requested. Answers telephone and performs other clerical functions as necessary (screen calls according to urgency and need). Maintain infection control measures including but not limited to proper cleaning of surgical equipment and use of autoclave 15. Proficient with autoclave sterilization process 16. Knowledge and proficiency of dressing changes and suture removal 17. Assess signs and symptoms of infection and reporting to surgeon and/or provider 18. Hepatitis checks and protocol to protect surgeon, patient, and nurse 19. May perform high level disinfection, based on departmental equipment. Other Duties: 1. As assigned as appropriate for LPN licensure 2. Attend new employee orientation and all mandatory events such as in‐services, classes, training as required by the organization 3. Complies with the dress code policy as set forth by Guthrie 4.
