We offer a supportive team environment at a local community hospital with hands-on training from both our surgeons and fellow PAs. This position offers exposure to multiple surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Breast, Spine, Neurosurgery, Thoracic, Vascular, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are looking for an individual whose primary role will be to assist in managing post-operative patients on the floor as well as being involved with surgical consultations. Communication and teamwork required as there is frequent collaboration with surgeons, hospitalists, nurses, and other colleagues throughout the day. There may also be first assistance in the operating room. We are a growing team with the possibility of altering schedules as our group expands. New grads are welcome to apply. Monday-Friday 3 12.5-hour shifts: May include day or nights. (Initial training 7a-5p, 4 10-hr shifts, as needed) Must be available for overtime and weekend coverage as needed. Floor and some OR time. Schedule subject to change to accommodate the surgical program. Located at NYP Hudson Valley Hospital - 1980 Crompond Rd, Cortlandt, NY 10567 Preferred Criteria: Experience assisting in the operating room. 1 + years of experience as a Physician Assistant.
