SHIFT AND SCHEDULE Full Time 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Full Time 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS · Complete a comprehensive assessment. This includes the initial and ongoing, extensive collection, analysis and interpretation of data · Synthesize the data collected during the comprehensive assessment to identify problems, make nursing diagnoses, and to formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes. · Implement the plan of care. The RN may begin, deliver, assign or delegate certain interventions within the plan of care for patients within legal, ethical, and regulatory parameters and in consideration of health restoration, disease prevention, wellness, and promotion of healthy lifestyles. · Evaluate and report patient outcomes and responses to therapeutic interventions in comparison to benchmarks from evidence-based practice and research findings, and plans any follow-up care and referrals to appropriate resources that may be needed. · Demonstrates positive effective communication, including education with patients and families, physicians and other healthcare team members, and professional communications skills. · Demonstrates proficiency in using the electronic medical record providing accurate, timely and complete documentation of plan of care and assessments and respect of patient’s rights and confidentiality. · Provide a safe environment for patients, families and co-workers, including handwashing, and adherence to infection control policies. · Demonstrate professionalism including current AED’s and other competencies, following dress code policies, participation in orientation of new team members. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ·An associate’s degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred. Our aim is that MMH nurses are prepared at the BSN level. We are committed to support your pursuit of a BSN education. A BSN and certification in clinical area of expertise will be required to advance within the clinical nurse professional practice ladder ·At least six (6) months nursing experience. Or, for nurses with less than six (6) months experience in the acute care setting may be placed in the Nurse Residency Program ·Licensure: Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse ·Required Certifications: Current CPR (American Heart Association) ·Preferred Certifications: Area of specialty within 2 years of employment (Certified MedSurg, or Orthapedic Nurse). ·Early Acute Stroke recognition and treatment preferred.
