Current Healthcare Provider CPR. Minimum of one (1) year NICU unit specific experience required. 5 years NICU RN experience preferred. Previous Charge Nurse or Supervisor experience preferred. National Certification in unit specific preferred. Possess medical/clinical knowledge and technical skills for respective department(s)/unit(s). Develops, revises and ensures compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and professional practice acts as applicable to assigned area(s). Serves as a role model by providing leadership expertise and serves as a clinical and administrative resource to others. Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments both verbal and written accurately and efficiently as noted by chart reviews and observation. Consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care. Exhibits a thorough practice of infection control procedures per policy and procedure as applicable to the assigned area(s). Identifies, verbally evaluates, and reports identified reaction changes in the stated physical and mental conditions of patients. Documents all encounters with patients seeking health advice according to organizational standards, while clearly demonstrating the nursing process. Provides individual instruction and education to patients and families concerning health and medical needs per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s). Assesses and anticipates the needs of the patient, and coordinates the necessary interventions as defined by policy, procedure and the written/verbal orders of the provider as applicable to assigned area(s).
