Overview Department: Inpatient Acute Rehab Schedule: Nights, 7:00pm - 7:30am, 12-hour shifts Facility: Resurrection Medical Center Location: Chicago, IL 60631 Responsibilities The Clinical Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, the Clinical Supervisor may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License. 2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current. 3. Current ACLS 30 days upon of hire and maintain current. 4. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. 5. RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred. 6. PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients. Procedure tray, instrument, and equipment set-up according to instructions. Able to numb patient as directed by the provider. Prepare path/lab specimens per protocol; complete path/lab requisition forms accurately and completely; document specimens in path log. Review pathology and lab results with patients per provider’s instructions. Document visit in EMR clearly and accurately as directed. Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed. Schedule surgical procedure appointments on computer as necessary. Phone prescriptions and refills to pharmacy according per provider’s instructions. Be familiar and compliant with OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen standards. Clean, sterilize, and inventory all medical equipment and instruments. Keep appropriate records of maintenance program. Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies. Maintain infection control policies of office. Upkeep and cleanliness of exam rooms, supply cabinets, and drawers always well stocked. Ordering, sorting, storing, restocking, and inventory of all medical supplies. Document all medical instructions given to patients. Knowledgeable and compliant of HIPAA privacy standards. Knowledgeable of all products and procedures in office. Be able to explain both to patients. Be knowledgeable of office financial policies and fees. Obtaining preauthorization for medications required. Schedule appointments for patients with other specialists, fax appropriate records if necessary. Help with office housekeeping duties as directed. Check and maintain eye wash station weekly. Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Graduate from and accredited nursing program. 3. Current State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 4. C.P.R. Certified Preferred Education and Experience 1. One year experience as a L.P.N. in a long term care setting. 2. One year experience as a C.N.A. Additional Eligibility Qualifications 1. Knowledge of Joint commission procedures. 2. Knowledge of IDPH regulations.
