Job Summary: We are searching for a qualified and self-motivated certified medication aide to join our team. You will perform a variety of patient care duties including administering medication, reporting changes, collecting samples, and recording medication dosages. The ideal medication aide will be extremely detail-oriented and possess in-depth knowledge of patient care procedures. Providing excellent patient care is a vital part of this job, which is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to the health care provider's orders Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications. Record medication dosages and times. Observe patients and document changes in their condition. Gather samples for analysis. Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned. Uphold all health and safety standards. Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs. Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following community and regulatory guidelines. Report any changes in residents' physical condition and/or behaviors. Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations. Required Skills/Abilities: Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent Certified Medication Aide

Responsibilities Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing and respirator fit testing Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) Assist providers during examination and treatment Responsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as needed Prepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating clinician Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulations Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit Responsible for clerical tasks in both the front and back office associated with patient care and proper record keeping Ensure accuracy in documentation Perform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, communicate wait times, answer multi-line telephone system, and distribute employer results/paperwork as needed Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
