Responsibilities JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Onsite Registered Nurse you will: Observe, assess and record patients’ symptoms, reactions and progress Develop and manage nursing care plans, instruct patients and their families in proper care and help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health Provide nursing and first aid services to employees and people who are ill or injured on our clients’ premises in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve occupational health and safety services objectives Escorts patients to exam room, prepares patients for examination and treatment and assists the practitioner, as requested Draws blood and prepares appropriate paperwork for laboratory pick-up Provides excellent customer service to all patients, clients and peers while incorporating Orange Book values Ensures accuracy when completing and executing tasks such as; drug screens, DOTs, bandaging, dressings and performing quality assurance checks Ensures accurate, concise, timely and complete documentation of results and paperwork Provides an excellent, compassionate and warm patient experience regardless of patient volume Ability to manage time, prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment Ability to adapt to changing business needs such as scheduling and working additional/different hours/shifts when appropriate Ability to consistently deliver quality care in a busy clinical environment Takes action to assist in other areas and to do what is needed to ensure an excellent patient experience Seeks out opportunities for additional clinical training and self-development in order to consistently provide quality care Effectively communicates with all patients, clients, supervisors and peers while incorporating Orange Book values Listens to and understands internal and external client needs in order to act and address Committed to personal excellence and understands how daily work contributes to center operation as a whole Holds self and others accountable. Provide necessary nursing services to students in the residential program including distribution of medications as needed overnight. Conducts the initial and ongoing assessment of students’ illness/injuries, updating the director/case manager/parent per protocols and determines the students’ needs to be seen by a PCP, urgent care, or emergency department for injury/illness requiring further assessment. Keeps ongoing communication/consultation with the student’s family/guardian, home physicians, case management, and residential and/or educational staff. Administrative duties as needed such as scanning of medical documents, filing, updated medical records as needed, updating student files, etc. Will assist in supervising Medication Nurse Assistants (MNAs) on clinical staff. Qualifications Education & Experience: High school diploma/GED/HiSET required Must have a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of New Hampshire 1 – 3 years of related experience Skills and Knowledge: Pediatric experience preferred but not required. The LPN will be responsible for assessing and documenting the effects of care, ensuring the highest quality of health care for our students. Hours: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 am - 10:00 pm Responsibilities Responding to life-saving and emergency situations for staff and students. Preparing and administering prescribed medications and treatments. Observing students, recording significant conditions, and notifying supervisors or physicians as needed. Conducting sick call procedures for student injuries and illnesses. Explaining procedures and treatments to students and families. Monitoring vital signs and assessing student conditions. Documenting physical assessments and completing physicians' orders. Managing inventory of controlled substances and conducting daily medication counts. Participating in the development of student education plans. Providing nutrition counseling and assisting in psychiatric medication reviews. Scheduling and coordinating routine and follow-up medical appointments. Communicating effectively with physicians, dentists, specialists, and families. Conducting monthly audits of medication sheets and participating in staff training. Qualifications A license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire is required. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
