Nursing Assistant in Training (NAIT) Position Summary: The Nursing Assistant in Training (NAIT) is a temporary position that exists to prepare NAITs to successfully pass the Minnesota Nursing Assistant competency exam. As an NAIT, you will be responsible for similar duties as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) once deemed competent through specific training. Upon completion of the 75-hr NATCEP course, the NAIT will take and pass both MN state exams for skills and knowledge. You are allowed three attempts to pass the skills portion of the exam and four attempts to pass the knowledge portion of the exam. You will need to be on the MN state registry within 4 months from your hire date. After successfully passing both state exams, you will then apply internally for the open CNA position at your current facility.
