We are hiring on-call Registered Nurses to join our dynamic care team with Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts in Berkshire County! 4:30p-8a during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday. 7 on, 7 off. Stipend pay and mileage reimbursement. This is an on-the-road position and the candidate must have a reliable and insured vehicle and be willing to travel. $175 per day. Must hold an active and unencumbered RN license in Massachusetts and be CPR certified. One (1) to two (2) years experience in acute care/home care/hospice preferred. Duties & Responsibilities: Responds to on-call messages that may include making recommendations via phone and making visits. Complete a comprehensive assessment of patient and family to determine hospice eligibility and care needs. Provide nursing care. Complete clinical notes regarding patient condition and care given. Supervise hospice CNAs. Teach patients and loved ones self-care techniques as appropriate. Provide appropriate support at time of death. Initiate plan of care and make revisions as patient status and needs change. Assess and evaluate patient status. Work with interdisciplinary team to meet the emotional needs of the patient and loved ones. Specific Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Candidate must possess strong observation, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, basic math, and nursing skills.
