Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. What qualifications you will need: Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire. Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Key Responsibilities Adhere to care plan to ensure safe and competent care for the patient. Assist patients with personal hygiene and support the maintenance of a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Help patients with ambulation as prescribed by the physician and approved or supervised by a clinician or therapist. Support therapy personnel as needed during rehabilitative processes. Encourage patients to achieve maximum independence according to the nursing care plan. Promote mental alertness by engaging patients in activities of interest. Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and household members, fostering trust and confidentiality. Report any changes in the patient’s condition or home environment to the RN or clinical manager. Perform light housekeeping tasks related to creating a safe and comfortable environment, as directed by the clinician. Complete visit reports promptly and accurately within the electronic medical record system. Confirm daily visit schedules to ensure seamless coordination with other staff. Demonstrate awareness of the agency’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and participate as required. Understand and adhere to the agency’s process for managing and addressing customer complaints. Maintain acute awareness of patient rights, ensuring these rights are upheld in accordance with the agency’s service agreements and admission policies.
